Alex Holiday brings her light and dedication to the practice of yoga. She believes that yoga is for everyone and every body. She teaches based on the notion that if you change your energy you change your mind. Her classes are a blend of hatha flow that focus on pranayama and meditation. She strives to help students build strong bodies, find clarity of mind and open their hearts. She guides earth based ceremonies that focus on yoga, personal empowerment and building balance and power through nature.
Having pursued yoga initially as a form of exercise, it soon became a gateway to life-long spiritual practice. In 2008, Alex traveled to India and spent a month at the Sivananda Ashram in Madurai and studied yogic texts and deepened her knowledge of yogic philosophies. As a lifelong learner and seeker, Alex continued her spiritual studies completing the Council Guide training, through Dance Hammers, which taught her earth based traditions that remind us that the entire universe resides within us. Now having completed the Sri Yoga teacher training program she is armed with tools, techniques and mindful prayers for the people.
Alex has been honored to study with teachers such as Brenna Geehan, Jean Mazzei, Swami Govindananda, and Kofi Bussia. She lives in San Francisco by way of Los Angeles and Santa Cruz. Alex’s mission is to help students remember the truth of who they are and find their unique expression of joy.
